John D. Kling II, DDS, MAGD
Raised in Alexandria, Virginia, Dr. John D. Kling graduated from Wake Forest University in North Carolina with a B.A. in Biology and from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He completed his residency at Buffalo General Hospital in 1985, and has been in private practice in Old Town Alexandria since that time.
Dr. Kling’s post-graduate education includes extensive course work through the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, and the LSU School of Dentistry’s Academy of Continuing Dental Education. He has earned the highest achievement of Mastership through the Academy of General Dentistry, which requires more than 1,100 hours of approved continuing dental education in all aspects of dentistry. The pinnacle of educational achievement, however, has been earning his Accreditation from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). This has been accomplished by only 350 dental professionals, and showcases his deep commitment to excellence in the dental profession. Professional Affiliations and Recognitions
Dr. Kling is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society and the Alexandria Dental Society where he previously served as its president.
He has been repeatedly selected as “Washington’s Best Dentist” in the Washingtonian Magazine, Consumers Research Council of America, Northern Virginia and Virginia Living Magazines. His patients have continuously honored him in the Washington’s Consumer Checkbook and his practice was chosen for the Professional Business of the Year Award in 1998 by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.
Community Affiliations and Recognitions
As an active community member, Dr. Kling belongs to the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and the Alexandria Rotary Club. He is an annual sponsor of the Alexandria Walk to Fight Breast Cancer and was the former chair of the Alexandria Public Health Advisory Commission.
Dr. Kling volunteered for years at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic and the citywide program placing protective sealants on children’s teeth children. He currently is involved with the “Give Back a Smile” program, providing local individuals with reconstructive dentistry after domestic abuse.
